Subject: Motivation
Hi Melissa,
I hear you on Flow 93.5 and I have a question. I seem to lose motivation very quickly and I wanted to know how i can stay motivated? Also, my thighs rub together and it is very annoying! What do you suggest I do?
Nitu M.
Hey Nitu,
WE all go through bouts when we need to get a little boost of motivation to stick to our workout and healthy eating plans. i'm a very visual person, so I'll pick up some of my favorite fitness mag or books and read some new workout articles. Or I'll book some extra sessions with my trainer, so that I ensure I get 100% out of my gym time. Or I fake it till I get it! lol meaning I may not 'FEEL' like doing my cardio, but once I start, my energy level rises from the endorphins, and I feel better for it! What else....journaling helps allot! I'll write my goals out and post them where I will see them! @ my desk, on my fridge etc. We are what we focus on, so stay positive and surround yourself with high energy positive people & you'll kick it! As for your thigh rubbing, hit that cardio, with weighted lunges and squats 2xper week to tighten up the muscle!
Cheers, MT
Hi Melissa,
Very nice to hear from you, and than you for taking the time to reply, most times you don't get responses from websites/celebs/personalities. I've heard you on 93.5 many times, and you have great tips, so I looked you up online yesterday and I saw your website. I feel really bad when I get off track, for example now! You're right, pictures do make me feel like wanting to do something, when I see pictures in magazines of how I'd like to it makes me want to do something about it. I don't have a trainer but I met with a trainer at the community center who went to high school with me, and he designed a plan for me....but as time went by, I lost focus, and I am supposed to meet him this weekend for a follow up after a month, and I don't think he will be impressed! He did it for free, and I used my cardio equipment at home, he gave me strength work outs to do 3x/week, and I kept a food journal for the month. However, I didn't do my strength workout as often as he told me to, I didn't do cardio 4x/week and I ate well for the most part, but I get off track here and there, not to mention I am an emotional eater, so I was depressed over a bad relationship and started eating like a pig! How do you control emotional eating.....I am guilty of that. I will try posting my goals, maybe that will help. Thank you!
