I started my training with Melissa in May of this year. I came to Melissa looking to take my training to a new level and spice up my fitness/work-out routine. I have been at a good/above average level of fitness for years, but wanted to move from good to great. I also had ITB (Iliotibial Band) issues that have limited my ability to run more than 7 or 8 minutes at a time without have to stop due to the pain. This limited my cardio options and I love to run so the ITB issues really bothered me. I have been to numerous chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists over the years looking for help, but was never able to resolve my ITB issues.
Fast-forward 3 months to August. In only 3 months I have lost 8lbs of body fat and increased my muscle tone and strength a great deal. My body fat % has dropped from 23% to 19% and the best part of all…I can run for over an hour without having to stop! Now I’ll stop because I’ve reached my goal, not because of pain! Melissa has helped me correct the muscle imbalances in my body that were causing the knee pain.
I love training with Melissa because she is tough and pushes me beyond my limits every time we meet and inspires me to push myself when I am training on my own. Melissa always seems to know what approach to take with me. She is always tough, but she knows to encourage me through positive thinking and mind-body connections, not disappointment/yelling or letting me give up.
I have a degree in nutrition and have been a personal trainer myself, but I was never able to eat the right things or train the right way to get the look I wanted until Melissa took me under her wing. I am having a ton of fun training; I’m looking great & have lots of energy. It is so rewarding to finally see my body react to all my hard work and to feel so strong and sexy!
